Coleslaw
from the kitchen of Janet
Pontarelli (This was a big hit at the June 2003 Open House Dinner!)
1 bag coleslaw
2 pkgs Beef flavor Raman noodles(break up into small
pieces)
1 packet of the beef seasoning mix inside the Raman Noodles(Save the
other for the dressing)
1 cup shelled sunflower seeds(salted)
1 cup
slivered almonds
1 or 2 bunches scallions(optional)
Dressing
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
1 packet
beef seasoning from noodles
Mix dressing and set aside.
Crush noodles; add sunflower seeds and almonds. Mix with seasoning packet. Set aside.
Mix coleslaw and scallions.
10 minutes prior to serving mix everything together.
Enjoy!! Double recipe if serving a large crowd.
Donna's BBQ Bean Bake
1) 1.5 - 2 lbs. ground
beef
1
lb. bacon,
chopped
1 large onion, chopped
Fry all together, drain, then put into large
crock-pot.
2) 3/4 cup ketchup
3/4 cup BBQ
sauce
1 t.
salt
4T. prepared dry
mustard
4T. wet
mustard
3-4 T. chili powder
(season to taste)
3/4 t.
pepper
Mix all together in small bowl then stir into meat mixture in
crock-pot.
3) 2- 16 oz. cans dark or light kidney
beans

cans pork &
beans
2
cans butter beans
Drain cans of each bean, then fold into pot mixture
Cover pot and cook slow stirring occasionally 4-5 hours or as needed (based on your cooker)

Authentic Hobo Soup
from the kitchen of Janet Pontarelli
1 lb. pork sausage
2 large cans kitchen cut tomatoes
15 oz. can tomato
sauce
1-1/2 cups onion, chopped
chopped veggies of choice: zucchini;
peppers; carrots; broccoli; etc.
2 cups chicken broth
1 Tblsp salt
1/8
tsp pepper
1/2 tsp each of: thyme; rosemary; marjoram; savory; &
tarragon
1 Tblsp soy sauce
2 Tblsp brown sugar
Brown the pork in a pot. Add everything else and simmer for a couple of hours. Enjoy!
